Skagway, Alaska…it was light at 3:30 AM this morning and it was another beautiful day on our cruise. We would like to thank our travel agent, Debbie, for arranging both the cruise and the weather we are having. Kay insists that the sun shines wherever she goes so I have no idea who to believe. Kay said it was to be 67 degrees here today. They told us to dress warm and bring rain gear. Kay said we needed none of the above and being the former Girl Scout, my motto of be prepared came in handy. I wore a shirt, sweater, fleece vest and my jacket and took my gloves. The scenery on the railroad up the mountain was breathtaking. The further up we went, the colder it got and Kay was the one who used my gloves as we took turns outside the train car taking pictures from the narrow platform. Those of you that know my height issues will be proud that I was able to do that. This is some of the most beautiful scenery you will ever see. It was 27.2 miles up to Frasier, Canada where we had to have our passports checked on this excursion. We again today shared the excursion with the Carnival Spirit and Island Princess. When we arrived in Frasier we then boarded a bus for the trip down the mountain. We stopped a few times for pictures before stopping at Liarsville for our Gold Panning part of the trip. This is set up like an old mining camp as you will see in the photos and was fun. We are glad that we were up and out early this morning as the tours for this afternoon where crowded when we got back to the ship. We went to have lunch and are now doing laundry and then are going to head back into town to look around. So we have had a full day already. We have laughed a lot and do appreciate all of you reading both our blogs. Deb W…I had a slight accident in the chair last night due to Kay’s laughing spell over a picture I took yesterday…but then she also laughed at my passport photo. If there is time after laundry and town I will try to catch you up on the ship itself and my impressions. Tomorrow is Glacier Bay and I must have all batteries charged and be ready for each Kodak moment. Later guys….oh and I’m going to try to post some more photos from yesterday too so go back and look Lindsay, Chris and Paige and see them of the whales I saw and go to look at the eagles and otter close ups on Kay’s. Oh and to my friend Dave…our tour guide told us today that they refer to bikers here as “meals on wheels for bears”…I’m just sayin.
The sea lions above were playing by the ship when we got off this morning.

your pics are great. Sounds like you are both having a great time. I will be looking foward to the rest of your trip and your views on Holland ships.
