Trading Places

Kay and I had some last minute revelations yesterday.  While trying to map out where we wanted to go in Seattle from our hotel, we realized we were very far from the things we wanted to do.  So we agonized about whether to stay where we were and she researched transportation or to move and pay more per night.  Then there is always the issue of how many beds in the room which is why we wound up where we were was because all the rooms with two beds were booked.  Did we need to pay more to have a room with a water view or would the water in the tub, sink, shower and ice bucket be enough to sustain us?  If breakfast was not included at the new hotel, would we starve?  Would the coffee in the room be Seattle's Best?  If not, what was second best?  Kay found that there was a streetcar that ran from the hotel to Pike's Market and the Edgewater Hotel which is where we want to go for dinner Saturday.  She also found a public bus route that ran the same direction along the waterfront which is good.  If Desire (streetcar named) didn't work out we could take the bus.  In a last minute, before bed decision we booked at the Marriott Waterfront and will pay more to have a room with a view of Elliott Bay/Puget Sound (who decides where one ends and the other begins?).  We will now be able to walk where we want to go but as I told Kay, we may just want to stand at the window and enjoy the view instead of sightseeing.  She was so inspired by our last minute maneuvering and spending spree that she also changed her hotel for her nights before I arrive.  We are pleased with our last minute decisions and will update you when we arrive at the Waterfront on Saturday.  As I write, Ms. Kay is on her way to Seattle.

We definately made the best decision in regards to the hotel, despite the streetcar that's not a streetcar, the excess of water, and the ferries that are making me dizzy to watch they make so many runs. I'm having a fabulous time. Glad you're here!

Hope you all have fun. Watch out for the Skeeters and bears. We have made it safely to Lyons,Colorado and the house we are staying at is very nice.
